Mornings are the time where our mood of the day can be set. It is the habits that you repeat during that time that decide whether you will have a day full of energy or one where you will feel restless all the time. For this reason, the number one indicator for having a good morning is good sleep. However, it is not enough. There are many things that you can and need to do to give your body the boost it needs to go on with the day, in the right way. In this article, we will talk about 4 core elements for a healthy morning routine.

1. Hydration

When you wake up in the morning, your body requires water to recompense for all the lost fluids during your sleep. Also, drinking water in the morning will help you feel refreshed and energized, and ready to start the day. Hydrating your body on an empty stomach can increase the benefits of drinking water on your body, such as improving your gut’s health. Furthermore, drinking water first thing in the morning will help balance the fluids in your body and energize your brain during the whole day. Not only that but it will also help you eliminate your body’s waste better and faster. Finally, drinking water on an empty stomach will support your immune system against many inflammations and diseases.

2. Stretching

Stretching as a morning routine has lots of benefits. First, it increases blood flow to all parts of your body even the brain. This is important during the morning as it will help you start your day on the right foot. It is a great way to start your day after being asleep for several hours. Having an adequate amount of blood flow in your body can improve your senses and concentration. Second, stretching in the morning increases your levels of energy. It will energize you and push you to start your day ASAP.  You will feel that the feelings of tiredness fade as soon as you start moving your body. According to the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans, it is important to do between 150 and 300 minutes of cardio weekly and no less than 2 muscle-strengthening workouts. While they do not mention a lot about flexibility, they say that it is a crucial part of any physical activity program.

3. Meditation

Meditation is a method to help you become calmer and focused. It has many benefits and has been proven to help increase your brain’s power. Meditating in the morning can help you calm your brain down, as you breathe out all the negativity in your body. It will also help you focus better as it gets rid of the thoughts that are roaming inside your mind.

4. Nutrition:

Nutrition is important every minute of the day, especially during the morning. You must fuel your body with the right nutrients so that it can produce enough energy to operate well. Make sure that you consume a breakfast rich in nutrients rather than sugary foods full of calories.
